Week 5 of SP

April 28, 2013 Sunday
Sushi Go: The weather was gorgeous today! I was meeting Cindy at Sushi Go for lunch.  We had never been there, we wanted to try it and also visited Jocelyne since she worked there on Sundays.  I ordered an assorted tray.  I think we sat there for more than an hour, just because we had nothing to do.  Jocelyne asked what we would do after the meal, she would go for a run by the canal.... well, lady, good idea.... for you. LOL This old man (me) don't run, can't break any bones. LOL We ended up in Rideau Centre for a bit, then decided to go for a movie.  The cinema in Rideau Centre closed, so we went to Empire 7 to see Oblivion.  I liked the story, but man, Tom Cruise's acting..... I wouldn't even call it acting.  The only good thing was I paid for ticket, diet coke and popcorn with student discount :-)

Birthday Breakfast Dinner @ Quinn's: It was Quinn's birthday last Sunday.  And we (Cindy, Erin, Chad, Tanvi and I) were invited for her Birthday Breakfast Dinner today at her place today.  Quinn and Matt made us pancakes, sauces, bacons, hot maple syrup, and cakes! Thanks folks! And we also played a game called Apples to Apples.  Thanks for every, and especially the cakes, Quinn! ;-)

Lecture #107: Chef Hervé Chabert demonstrated to us how to make pastillage and some sugar works.

After class, Cindy, Jason and I had All-you-can-eat lunch at Hokkaido Sushi near ByWard Market.

May 3, 2013 Friday
Workshop #207: In practical class today, we made pastillage, and some sugar works, but I didn't take pictures of my pastillage.  I did 3 roses, 1 small flower, some leaves, and 1 ribbon.  We'll save the pastillage for the exam piece, and practice more sugar work next week.

After class, Cindy, Jason and I had Korean food for lunch.  Then Cindy was excited to get Frappacino in Starbucks, 'cos they had the Happy Hour special.
